Here’s a magical augmented reality experience! In collaboration with Disney Parks, the Disney Store in New York placed a spot in the middle of Times Square and caught up the attention of many passers-by during one weekend in November.
When standing in a specially marked circle opposite a digital billboard, people could watch themselves interacting and even dancing with Disney characters! And the experience doesn’t stop there, as the lucky Disney fans could also have pictures taken with their favourite characters, which could be sent to them from the store.
We’ve recently been witnessing fantastic use of innovative AR technology, with great examples from Lynx in London and Heineken in Taiwan. As you can see from the video below, this exciting technology is a great addition to a range of experiential campaigns, with Disney bringing sparkle and wonder to the iconic New York square.
