On the 7th of May 2009, Intercontinental Hotels Group PLC, the world’s largest hotel operator by rooms, invited about 20,000 people in the cities of London, Shanghai, Paris and New York for a collective jump on four enormous beds.
This stunt wasn’t exactly the kind of global movement that John Lennon and Yoko Ono had in mind with their “bed-in” at an Amsterdam hotel in 1969, which was their non-violent way of protesting against the Vietnam war.
