Facebook to launch event check-ins Experiential marketing and its relationship with social media has been a hot topic of conversation recently and the latest development from the biggest sociAl network of them all looks like it will only strengthen this relationship.

Yesterday it emerged that Facebook is looking to introduce event functionality to its location-based service Places.

We have seen great examples of live brand experiences using the existing feature to check in to permanent physical locations, but the addition of time-sensitive check-ins is going to open up fantastic opportunities for experience-based brands that embrace the relationship between experiential marketing and social media.
