Celebrating Creativity #151 – NAQA

NAQA Coughing Poster Experiential marketing is a great mechanism that can bring your message to life, using unconventional mediums to drive awareness to health issues such as the effect of second-hand smoke.

To emphasise what passive smoking feels like, the anti-smoking charitable organisation NAQA created the Coughing Poster. Powered by a smoke detector, a device inside the poster gives the signal to a programmed amplifier that transforms the beeping alarm sound into a coughing sound coming out of the speakers, whenever a smoker lights up a cigarette.

Using the tagline: ‘Second hand smoke causes lung & heart diseases for non-smokers’, the unconventional poster was placed in three major locations in Saudi Arabia where smokers usually take their cigarette break.

The video is a bit long but it is worth the watch for the surprising reactions to the Coughing Poster.
