Celebrating Creativity: Christmas Special

Heineken Social Tree A time for festivities, fun and frolics, the Christmas period provides a perfect opportunity for brands to emotionally engage consumers by adding an extra sparkle of creativity to their promotions.

We have witnessed some cracking, heart warming examples this year, which have put into place many of the new technologies and features that we have seen prevail over 2011. For this special Christmas blog, we selected two great campaigns that perfectly translate the Christmassy spirit of connecting people and spreading festive cheer.

T-Mobile teamed up with Mariah Carey to spread some seasonal cheer in November for its ‘Life is for Sharing’ campaign. The brand created an amazing experiential concert, featuring the artist in 5 European cities. How can Mariah be in more than one place simultaneously, you may ask? Through the clever integration of Hologram projection technology, of course! People were able to sing and dance along with fellow Mariah fans in other cities, via live film feeds projected on screens around the square. Unadulterated fun, physically shared in 5 cities, virally shared across the globe via YouTube!

As we love clever interactive campaigns, the amazingly social Heineken Christmas tree in Singapore brought some festive cheer to the Hotcow office! Standing 11 meters high and created solely from interactive screens, the tree marries art and technology perfectly. Bringing social network posts from people all over the world out into the public hemisphere, the tree will represent global consumer connectivity this Christmas. Using a special Facebook app, social media users are able to select up to 18 friends to appear on their personalised, unique Heineken tree. A range of lucky app users are then selected to appear on the actual tree, spreading the seasonal cheer globally- technologically and festively genius!

The Hotcow team would like to wish all our MooTalk fans a very Merry Christmas!
