Celebrating Creativity #51 – VW Piano Stairs

VW The Fun Theory Piano Stairs A while ago we commented on a great initiative of VW to create real-life experiences; this ambient installation is a great example of how experiential marketing can be an influential channel of communication and engage people to change their behaviour.

The Piano Staircase is one of the entries of “The Fun Theory” experiment in Stockholm, which is dedicated to promoting an environmental friendly thought and show that something as simple as fun is a good way to change people’s behaviour for the better.

The resulting piano stairs accurately picture how people got involved to take the stairs instead of the escalator. By using an amusing keyboard where each step strikes a piano note, they certainly got a great result. It is a really inspiring experiment and worth to share!
