Shell has been working with the Van Gogh Museum since 2005. In line with a current exhibition ‘Van Gogh at work’, the team at Shell and BrandBase set up on Amsterdam Museum Square and executed a creative stunt involving the construction of a giant work of art inspired by  a self-portrait by Vincent Van Gogh, built out of the flower Van Gogh helped to make so famous – the sunflower. Using 10,000 sunflowers and gerberas and 30 people over three days, they created a “masterpiece”. To amplify the build, passers by were handed sunflowers. This is a lovely little activation which definitely seemed to bring a smile to people’s faces.
