Celebrating Creativity #160 – Oro Verde

Oro Verde Guerrilla Campaign Oro Verde, a German nonprofit environmental organisation that works for the preservation of tropical forests, came up with a clever way to raise awareness against the destruction of rain forests.

Instead of recruiting new activists and volunteers to collect donations, the organisation decided to enlist the services of those who directly suffer from deforestation: the trees themselves. Hundreds of trees were fitted with ‘wooden fingers’ holding cardboard to look like they were pleading with people to help save the rain forests.

A great example of guerrilla marketing which brings the issue of deforestation into the spotlight. What do you think? Tweet us your thoughts @Hotcow!
